Lessons from the Success Files

Hello!
I trust you and those who are most important to you enjoyed the last of the summer holidays this past weekend for Labor Day. We enjoyed a fabulous day hiking and touring around Sedona and Jerome-positively SPECTACULAR!!!! I’m stoked that these quaint little towns are just a short drive away….Life is EXCEEDINGLY blessed!!!
Which brings me to the title of today’s Lessons from the Success Files…”Are You Tired of Should-ing All Over Yourself?” I’ve been there and lived that and by God’s grace, “should” is no longer in my vocabulary. Similarly, can’t isn’t as well because can’t simply means…WON’T. Ooooooh-that one stings a bit, hey?
It’s common that we “should all over ourselves” and then guess what…we smell. We have an odor to ourselves and to others. It seems we can’t hold onto fragrant things for very long. Perhaps use the list below to eliminate your stench and replace it with a pleasing aroma to be enjoyed by you and those around you. Your practice is a direct reflection of….YOU! Make it intoxicatingly AWESOME!!
Shoulding all over ourselves:
1. I should start exercising.
2. I should eat better.
3. I should be more patient.
4. I should stop spending so much money and only use my finances for things that post in the investment column.
5. I should spend more time with my kids.
6. I should spend more time with my spouse/significant other.
7. I should get my marketing plan together.
8. I should ask for referrals.
9. I should do my weekly health talk.
10. I should fire my staff person.
11. I should ask for testimonials.
12. I should figure out what I really want.
13. I should just get back to basics.
14. I should figure out my stats to know what is most profitable for me.
15. I should contact Dr Barbara and FINALLY hire a coach who walks their talk, talks their talk, and will push me to be my VERY best!!!
So, are you fragrant or foul-smelling? Is there a “should” that runs through your mind steady? How much longer will you allow it to muck up your day and ultimately your maximum potential?
Here’s how to adjust the shoulds right out of your life.
1. Make a list of your shoulds.
2. Prioritize your shoulds according to the most defeating ones at the top.
3. Record ONE positive action that you will TAKE to begin the process to eliminate the stench. Focus on progress, not perfection.
4. Now record your actions on your DAILY HABIT list and review it each day when you awaken. Take action on those simple steps every day.
5. When you’ve mastered these habits, email me and ask me for the next step. Focus on what’s NOW, not what’s NEXT.
Here’s to your INTOXICATINGLY fragrant life…
